Homes for Sale in Griggs Park, Brookline, MA

Griggs Park is a beautiful historic neighborhood that was once a wetland close to the downtown area of Brookline, MA. It is bordered by The Brookline Ballet School and Beacon Street to the North, Washington Street to the south, Fairbanks Street to the west, and Park Street to the east. The neighborhood was named after Reverend Allen R Griggs, an emancipated slave that became a notable educator and teacher in the community. The Dallas Park Board renamed the park to Griggs Park to honor Reverend Griggs for his lifelong work. Today, the park provides family-friendly amenities and a historical memorial open to residents in the area. There is a playground for children, pet-friendly open spaces, beautiful willow trees, and ample outdoor spaces to enjoy long conversations with family and friends, scenic views, painting, and reading.

Griggs Park provides a mix of residential options for buyers looking to make a purchase in the subdivision. Located next to a park, the area is less congested compared with its surroundings. Tree-lined paved walkways and an ample amount of greenery add to the overall appeal of the area. Property options in the area include apartments, condos, townhomes, and houses built in the 1900s. Apartments come in modest layouts and typically feature one or two-bedroom layouts with 500 to 1,100 sqft living space. These types of residences are generally more affordable ranging between $400,000 to $1 million. Houses in the area are typically larger with two to four-bedroom models and 2,000 to 4,000 sqft in floor space. These are generally priced higher at $1.3 million to $2.7 million.
