Homes for Sale in Medford Center, Medford, MA

Medford Center is the centermost section of the city of Medford, MA, located directly east of West Medford and west of Glenwood and Wellington. Borders of this neighborhood include S Border Road to the north, Northern Expressway to the east, the Mystic River to the south, and Governors Avenue to the east. This suburb’s southern riverfront portion serves as the primary downtown district of Medford and is home to government offices, a shopping center, and other office buildings. North of this area, you have the neighborhood’s residential portion, comprised of various suburban single-family houses. Centrally located, residents enjoy easy access to schools, shopping, restaurants, public parks, a hospital, and many other local businesses in Medford. There are also two river crossings located next to Medford Center that connect to South Medford and the city of Somerville.

The majority of homes in Medford Center are the Colonial-style homes built during the early 1900s that were developed during the region’s big suburban boom. Most of these have been remodeled and upgraded through the years but retain most of the original layout and design of properties built during that era. You can also find some replacement properties throughout the community built after the 1950s and some recent construction developed in the 2000s. Although these homes are newer, they still feature Colonial Revival architecture, the standard in the region. Single-family home builds in the community range between two to five-bedroom layouts with one two three baths and 1,200 sqft to 4,000 sqft in living space. Property prices range between $400,000 to $1 million, with currently listed properties averaging around the $600,000 range. Lot sizes are a bit larger for most households in the community, with lovely wooded spaces at the back of the home being a common feature throughout the community.
