Homes for Sale in Wellington, Medford, MA

Wellington is a riverside neighborhood within a peninsula that borders Mystic River to the south and Malden River to the east. Located within the city center of Medford, MA, the district is one of the primary business centers of the city and is home to various department stores, shopping malls, office buildings, condominium complexes, and so much more. Residents are treated to a wealth of attractions and enjoy easy access to various retail and dining establishments, all within walking distance of their home. To the south of the community, you have the Mystic River State Reservation and Torbert Macdonald Park. This well-preserved riverfront green space provides fantastic views of the river and the city of Somerville to the south. Residents can enjoy lovely paved walking trails that wind along with wooded areas, open spaces, and the many waterfront viewing decks throughout the preserve.

The neighborhood’s residential areas include a small suburban section and the various mid-rise condominium developments and apartment buildings. Single-family homes in the community are located between Rivers Edge Drive and Fellsway Road. These homes feature the iconic Colonial Revival architecture common in the region and are centered around Harris Park. Houses have classic Hardiplank walls, steepled roofs, elevated front porches, a small backyard, side-entry driveways for parking, and a basement level for utilities. These residences typically include an open kitchen and dining area and a living room space perfect for entertaining guests. A good mix of old and new home builds in the area, but the oldest residences were constructed in the early 20th century. Home builds come with two to four-bedroom layouts with two to three baths. Floor spaces range between 1,200 sqft to 3,000 sqft. Some duplexes and homes were remodeled into multi-family residences available in the area for buyers looking for that type of property in Wellington. Property prices in the area range between $700,000 to $1.2 million, with apartment units being the most affordable coming in at the high $500,000 range.

What's To Love

Home to Station Landing’s restaurants, retail shops, & hotels, it offers many conveniences. Long Cross Bar has great food & service with a modern vibe! You’ll have easy access to the Mystic River Reservation walking trails and river views. It’s easy to find a nice quiet spot despite being so close to Route 16.

What's Not To Love

You are typically limited to a high-rise condo or apartment. There is a pocket of some more residential options just a walk away, but walking to Station Landing is not ideal with the busy intersection.

Is it for me?

Great for professionals looking for low maintenance and solid accessibility to Boston via the MBTA Orange Line or route 28.
