Prospect Hill is a mixed-use neighborhood that’s mostly residential located in the very heart of Somerville, MA. The neighborhood sits next to a couple of major roadways, including Highland Avenue to the north, McGrath Highway to the east, and Somerville Avenue to the south. The suburb is known for the iconic Prospect Hill Monument or Prospect Hill Tower, an old stone tower monument built on top of a site with significance in both the Revolutionary War and Civil War. The structure itself was built in 1904 and currently flies the Grand Union Flag, reportedly the flag that George Washington hoisted on the site. The community of Prospect Hill, as the name implies, is built on top of a hill. There are lots of spots throughout the neighborhood that offers scenic views of the surrounding city skyline. If you’re lucky enough to buy a property that has one of these views, you’ll surely love looking at the sunrise come in as it lights up the entire city.

Prospect Hill is a well-developed neighborhood with all the conveniences a family would want. Schools are plentiful in the area, including Somerville High School, which sits directly north of the suburb. Public parks are plentiful in the area, and there’s a thriving commercial center to its south centered along Somerville Avenue.

You have to check out the Prospect Hill Monument at sunset. The City of Somerville has done a lot to revitalize the park surrounding the historical monument. Many of the homes in this section have been exceptionally well maintained and keep a boast historical charm. NU Kitchen is an excellent health-oriented cafe that you’ll adore!
